PADDY CRAFT WORKSHOP
The artisans of Nabrangpur, Kalahandi and Bolangir districts skillfully
insert unhusked paddy grains uniformly in a row between two thin strips of bamboo and secure it by tying it together with a thin, coloured cotton thread. Such strips are then bent to the needed shapes. Using this method, the craftsmen create most charming figures of deities such as Lakshmi or Ganesh; elephants, humans and even chariots.
